The Sisters Elementary School Parent-Teacher Community (SPTC) has awarded it’s fall 2016 teacher grants.

Close to $3,500 was distributed to teachers at the Elementary School.  Teachers applied for funds to help support their classrooms.  Items like new books including a set of graphic novels were purchased along with classroom activity items, new and innovative seating, math supplements, gym equipment and more.

“The Teacher Grants are very important to the SPTC,” says Haley Ellis, the current President of the group.  “It’s why our group does the fundraising we do – to help put money back into the classrooms and toward educating our kids.”

The SPTC will be hosting a ‘Spirit Wear’ fundraiser next month along with a new “Feed the Outlaws” program to help raise additional funds. Ellis hopes to be able to distribute funds through another granting process in the Spring of 2017.
