Sisters School District is funded through a State funding formula adopted in the early 1990’s. Although we have experienced some financial difficulties along the way, the district continues to provide an excellent education for all students and receives tremendous local support. The community passed a $21.5 million dollar bond in 2001 for a new state of the art high school. In September 2003, the new Sisters High School opened to much acclaim. The 12-year-old high school building became the new Sisters Middle School with $450,000 worth of renovations. The Sisters Elementary School was upgraded in 2006-08 to better meet the needs of elementary students. Also, the citizens of the school district approved for a third time in March 2009 a four-year local option tax to augment programs and lower class sizes.
Once again, in 2016, the Sisters Country voters approved a $10.7 million dollar facilities bond.
